Welcome to sci_Zone!
sci_Zone was founded in 1994 by a team of successful engineers and managers to meet the technology needs of the DoD and NASA including UAV development, space tethers and Flight Management Systems. Key services include technology development, software development, satellite fabrication, testing and management of subcontractors and employees. We are located in beautiful West Michigan in the small town of Holland!
The sci_zone team has received numerous Phase I, II and III SBIR and BAA grants from NASA and the DoD. Total sales has exceeded $12 million. Recent growth has been in the development of the step_SATdb an open source ISO 10303 integrated satellite design, systems and requirements architecture, and the QuickSAT push button satellite design environment. In January 2008, QuickSAT and step_SATdb were recognized as the top emerging concepts in the Great Lakes Region by the Great Lakes Entrepreneur Quest (GLEQ).
Other research includes flight management systems for UAVs, and range of consulting services and our new Near Space Concept Airship - the "Space Guard Near Space Airship ". In February 2006 the Space Guard was recognized as one of the top emerging concepts in the Great Lakes Region.
